I went. Out there.

The sky out there was familiar to me.

I’ve seen that sky before, not only in this country but elsewhere. It’s intimations subtly thrilled and scared me. When, briefly, a bright sun washed over and blanched that sky away, I felt, almost, protected. But also, I wanted that sky back.

At the time, I was going to walk down to the promenade, near the river’s edge. But again, I was scared and also I didn’t want to take the time to go all the way there and then have to spend the time to schlep all the way back.

2 blocks.
